New gift card launched to encourage Bristolians to shop locally

Posted on: 01 Jul 2022

The Love Bristol Gift Card is already redeemable at more than 100 independent businesses across the city centre.

A new gift card scheme has been launched to celebrate and drive shoppers towards Bristol's extensive community of independent businesses.

Devised by the Bristol City Centre, Broadmead and Redcliffe & Temple BIDs, the Love Bristol Gift Card allows customers to top up a pre-paid card and pass it on to loved ones to spend exclusively in participating local stores.

A growing selection of independents are already signed up to the project, covering retailers, restaurants, bars, hotels and more, with numbers expected to grow significantly over the coming weeks.

The Love Bristol Gift Card has been in the pipeline for several months, with the aim of taking the guesswork out of present-buying and celebrating the vibrant range of businesses located across central Bristol.

Participating businesses can be found in Broadmead, Bristol Shopping Quarter, the Old City, Redcliffe & Temple, Park Street and the Harbourside.

Among those already signed up to the Love Bristol project are BBQ aficionados Big Nath's, Wine Street multi-purpose venue Dareshack, expert glass manufacturers Bristol Blue Glass and the universally-loved Mrs Potts Chocolate House.

Some of the top independents located inside The Arcade shopping quarter are involved, too, including Card Shack, Mabz Key Cutters and beloved Italian cafe, Taste of Napoli.

A full guide to the growing list of businesses currently accepting payment via the Love Bristol Gift Card is available to browse online.

Love Bristol Gift Cards can be purchased online and topped up with any amount from £5 to £500. Customers can opt for a physical card to be delivered or an e-card to be sent via email, which can then be passed on to the lucky recipient(s).
