Locals encouraged to contribute ideas for new St Pauls & St Agnes mural project
Posted on: 20 Jun 2022Upfest are teaming up with local housing association Prelon Housing to commission a huge new artwork on the M32 approach.
Planning is underway for a new gateway mural project for central Bristol, inviting local residents to have their say in a major new artwork to be erected on Lower Ashley Road.
Organised in collaboration with Upfest and commissioned by Prelon Housing, the mural will be painted on the new Brighter Places development, highly visible to anyone entering St Pauls & St Agnes from the M32.
A questionnaire to contribute to the commission will remain open until Sunday 26 June - find out more and submit your responses here.
Fancy putting your stamp on St Pauls & St Agnes? We're working with @brighterplaces_ + want you to co-create a piece of art that the community will love.

A mega opportunity to bring a vibrant welcome message to the area + we welcome local collaboration: https://t.co/JQvsnKOfN8 pic.twitter.com/0c50Wap2On
Following the celebrated return of their flagship street art festival last month, Upfest are offering a unique opportunity for St Pauls and St Agnes residents to contribute to a new project in an already-vibrant part of the city.
The organisers will be working directly with members of the local community to inspire, plan and create a huge mural in the area, which will be installed later this year.
The accompanying questionnaire has been written to "help capture the thoughts of people who live and work in St Pauls & St Agnes and the surrounding area."
A selection of the respondents whose ideas inspire the artist working on the mural will be invited to a design workshop to further influence and develop the final piece.
Fill in your response to the survey here before the closing date on Sunday 26 June, and find Upfest on Twitter to follow news and updates on the project.
