Full programme revealed for Bristol Pride 2022

Posted on: 17 Jun 2022

More than 50 events will be taking place as part of Bristol's biggest-ever Pride programme.

Organisers behind Bristol Pride have revealed a full programme for their 2022 celebrations, bringing together live music, comedy, DJ sets, workshops and much more from Saturday 25 June to Monday 11 July.

Alongside a diverse selection of events, the much-loved Pride Parade will return after a two-year, coronavirus-induced hiatus, taking part as part of a vibrant Pride Day schedule on Saturday 9 July.

Individual tickets and wristband packages Bristol Pride 2022 are on sale now - find out more, browse a full lineup and secure yours here.

This year's Pride will be particularly poignant - not only does it represent a chance to bring the community back together after a long period of difficulty, it also marks the 50th anniversary of the UK's first-ever Pride march in 1972.

Amid the backdrop of ongoing conversations surrounding the government's controversial part-ban on conversion therapy, this year's Pride celebrations provide an opportunity to remember that LGBTQ+ people across the country and around the world are still fighting for equal rights.

Pride Day 2022 will see the festival return to The Downs, where the organisers initially moved to in 2019, and will feature performances from more than 100 acts across five stages, including global star Carly Rae Jepsen and hit vocalist Alexandra Burke.

Elsewhere, attendees can enjoy everything from drag discos and day parties to a poetry cabaret, film screenings, creative workshops, the popular Pride Dog Show and much more in between.

Other highlights to look out for include a star-studded Pride Comedy Night hosted by Bristol's own Jayda Adams, a special event to mark the release of George Michael Uncut at Watershed, and a drag improv version of comedy show Murder, He Didn't Write.

A full schedule of events - as well as individual tickets to each one - is available online and can be found here.

Speaking ahead of this year's event, Bristol Pride Festival Director, Eve Russell, said: “We are completely thrilled to bring everyone back together this year, we have so much planned and it’s going to be such a special and moving year.

“I’m particularly looking forward to seeing everyone marching together loudly and proudly. Pride Day will be an amazing celebration with incredible artists.”

Wristbands for Pride Day will once again be available on a donation basis, to ensure that those who need Pride the most can still attend if they're unable to afford a full-price ticket.

However, amid a steep rise in operating costs for the festival, organisers are encouraging anyone who is able to, to purchase a Pride Supporter wristband. Find out more and get yours here.
