Glastonbury 2022: Get to know this year's lineup with our dedicated Spotify playlist

Posted on: 10 Jun 2022

The world-renowned festival is about to open its gates for the first time in three years.

Glastonbury 2022 is getting close. At the end of the month, for the first time since 2019, more than 200,000 revellers will descend on Worthy Farm for one of the world's best-loved festivals, joined by a bumper lineup of class-leading artists.

Of course, as the opening day approaches, the usual pre-festival panic ensues among those of us lucky enough to secure a ticket: what did I do with my tent after last time? How, after all these years, do I still not know how to pack a festival bag? How do I make sense of this massive lineup?!

Sadly, we can't help with your packing, but in anticipation of what's sure to be a glorious return for Glastonbury, we've put together a Spotify playlist featuring some of the biggest and best acts on this year's programme.

Listen to the playlist in full here and be sure to make a note of the acts you want to watch this year. Organisation is key!

Postponed in 2020, then again in 2021 due to the coronavirus crisis, the latest edition of Glastonbury Festival has been a long time in the making.

Initially marking the 50th anniversary of the first-ever festival, the pandemic has jumbled the dates slightly, but Michael Eavis and co are pressing ahead with one of their most ambitious events to date to make up for lost time.

Headliners Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar are undoubtedly two of the biggest artists of the moment and, along with Beatles legend Paul McCartney, look set to deliver mind-blowing sets on the Pyramid Stage.

Elsewhere, legendary acts Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Diana Ross, Herbie Hancock and Pet Shop Boys will be taking crowds through their iconic back catalogues, while Pa Salieu, Kojey Radical and Little Simz are among the solo acts flying the flag for a blossoming contemporary UK rap scene.

As always, Glastonbury will be showcasing some of the world's leading DJs and electronic acts across the site this year, including Bicep, Bonobo, Overmono and HAAi among many, many others.

Being a Bristol-based platform we are, of course, delighted to see so many top-notch Bristol acts appearing on this year's lineup, from all-conquering rockers IDLES to soulful singer-songwriter Katy J Pearson, the inimitable Ishmael Ensemble, Timedance boss Batu and plenty more.

Our Glastonbury 2022 playlist - put together in part to bug those of us in the office who didn't get their hands on tickets - features a wide range of acts set to appear at this year's festival, and spans a broad spectrum of genres and sounds.

Over 100 tracks you'll hear classic rock, pop, hip-hop, jazz new and old, techno, disco, punk, psych-funk, indie, folk and much, much more in between to get you in the mood for the return of the UK's biggest music festival.

Find the full playlist here via Spotify, and head to the Glastonbury Festival website to browse the full lineup and set time schedule. We'll see you there!
