Top Afrobeat DJs from Bristol and beyond will be taking to the decks of Trinity’s stunning outside space this weekend.

Back for another year, family-friendly day party AfroFest is taking place at Bristol’s Trinity Centre on Saturday 11 June.

Spanning classic and contemporary Afrobeats, Dancehall and much more, the popular summer festival is a lively affair that will be complete with food stalls, dancers, and family activities as well as a vibrant musical lineup.

A limited number of tickets for AfroFest 2022 are still on sale, priced at £10 - find out more and get yours here.

Back in August 2019, Bristol and London based promoters Afrobeats Fridays teamed up with the Trinity Centre to put together a huge celebration of African culture.

AfroFest proved one of summer 2019’s most popular parties and plans were formed for it to return the following year. However, the pandemic put the celebrations on hold for the next two years.

Now, returning after its forced hiatus, the festival is back with a host of shows and activities, from DJ sets and live music to food and drink stalls, dancers, a bouncy castle, face painting and games.

In addition, organisers have arranged an African Fabric Fashion Exhibition and an African Cultural Display to celebrate and demonstrate the rich culture of Africa.

There will also be a plethora of DJs descending onto the Old Market venue, playing the best of Afrobeats, Amapiano, Dancehall, Soca, R’n’B, Soul, SA, House, Kuduro, Coupe Decale, Kizomba and much more.

AfroFest’s diverse line-up includes DJs such as DJ Neyo, DJ Wally, Dancehall Generals (pictured performing below), DJ Pandora, Chris Satta, DJ Simba and DJ Starzy among others.

The family-friendly day festival takes place on Saturday 11 June with adult tickets available for £10. Tickets can be purchased here.

Entry is £5 for 6 to 11-year-olds and free for those under 5. Tickets can be bought at the gate and children must be accompanied by an adult.

As ever, Trinity have a packed schedule of live music and DJs coming up over the summer. Head to the venue website for a comprehensive list.
