Mickey Zoggs to celebrate first birthday with all-star Bristol lineup

Noods Radio's new-but-not-really-new HQ is turning 1. Where does the time go?

The team behind independent Bristol-based station Noods Radio are celebrating the first birthday of their broadcasting headquarters this weekend, marking the occasion with a two-day musical extravaganza at Mickey Zoggs on Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 May.

In typical style, the Noods team have invited an extensive lineup of friends and family to perform, with Alya L, Bruce, Yushh and many more set to appear.

Opened last year, Mickey Zoggs is a relatively new studio space situated on Surrey Street, occupying the former site of much-loved bar and venue The Surrey Vaults.

Having become Noods Radio's first-ever permanent studio for a brief period back in 2017, the refurbished space is something of a spiritual home for the station, and now serves as a fully-equipped broadcast studio, community hub and full-time cafe-bar.

As well as hosting Noods' diverse programme of radio shows, the venue is open seven days a week serving coffee, snacks and sandwiches through the day, before operating as a licensed bar in the evenings.

Now, after a whole year in their new digs, the Noods team are inviting a cast of the station's regulars - as well as some of Bristol's most highly-regarded emerging artists - to provide a soundtrack to Mickey Zoggs' birthday celebrations.

Alya L, Kinlaw & Franco Franco (with BKV Version), Sadsugar, Kelan b2b Yokel, Saskia, Clarity & Holsten, Tramma, Busty Cousins, Owie Bowie & Jonny Confetti, Jackie Ryan, Serapi b2b Nadoone and Spud b2b Bill will all be playing across the weekend.

Disk Frisk, Junior, Yushh, Bruce, K-Means b2b I-Sha, MISH b2b Rose Again and Robin Stewart & Lucien Douglas are also confirmed on a bumper Bristol lineup.

Entry is free from start to finish, with each day set to get underway at 12:00.

Head to the Noods Radio website to find out more and delve into a broad back catalogue of radio shows, or find the station on Twitter to follow news and updates throughout the weekend's shenanigans.
