A stage adaptation of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is coming to Bristol

Step through the wardrobe this Spring at Bristol's premier theatre venue.

 

A critically acclaimed new production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe will arrive in Bristol next month, showing at The Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 3 to Saturday 7 May.

 

Coming direct from an extensive run in London, the show invites audiences into the magical world of Narnia, starring Samantha Womack (Eastenders, Mount Pleasant) as the White Witch.

One of the quintessentially British tales, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe follows the story of four young siblings who stumble across a gateway into a magical new world during wartime Britain.

 

Having been moved into the countryside, Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter discover an entrance to Narnia through the back of a wardrobe, meeting an array of magical creatures as well as a the cold, cruel, White Witch.

 

Described by Bristol-based director Michael Fentiman as "total theatre", the show brings together dance, puppetry and deft musicianship to create a spellbinding adaptation of a beloved classic.

 

Speaking ahead of the production's arrival in Bristol, Fentiman said he was "excited and proud" to be bringing The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe to his home city.

 

Following the opening night on Tuesday 3 May, further evening performances will be taking place daily until Saturday 7, while matinee performances will be shown on Wednesday 4, Thursday 5 and Saturday 7.
