Groove Armada & Bristol label Hospitality confirmed for new summer series, Siren

Posted on: 14 Apr 2022

A special performance from the iconic dance music duo will be followed by an all-star drum & bass takeover in July.

An ambitious two-day lineup has been confirmed for the first-ever edition of Siren, a new events series arriving at Bristol's Harbourside on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 July.

Performing as part of their farewell UK tour, Groove Armada will headline the series on its opening day, before revered Bristol-based drum & bass label Hospitality invite an array of DJing heavyweights as part of Hospitality on the Harbour.

Siren will take place at the open-air Lloyds Amphitheatre in the heart of the city, becoming the latest in a long line of top-notch events to take over the atmospheric space.

Tickets for the two individual shows are on sale now - find out more and get yours here.

Summer 2022 marks 25 years since Groove Armada debuted, before going on to become one of the most successful British dance acts of all time.

Across more than two decades of acclaimed productions and mesmerising live shows, the duo have managed to bridge the gap between musical experimentation and critical and commercial success.

At Siren, fans can expect the full spectrum of Groove Armada's diverse discography, from the iconic dub of 'Superstylin' and carefree energy of 'I See You Baby' to the stripped-back, sunset vibe of 'At The River'.

Speaking in March upon being confirmed as Siren's first headliners, Groove Armada said they were “excited to be coming back to Bristol” for what will be their biggest-ever show in the city.

“It’s a lovely way to be finishing another chapter with the live band and we’re very excited to play an outdoor show in such a beautiful location,” the pair added.

Groove Armada will be joined on the day by stellar support acts Huey Morgan and Scarlett O'Malley, as well as Saffron Records, whose showcase will feature a selection of graduates from their popular Mix Nights programme.

A day later, Bristol drum & bass frontrunners Hospitality will be putting their inimitable spin on proceedings, hosting the first edition of Hospitality on the Harbour on Saturday 30 July.

In trademark style, the label and events brand have enlisted some of the UK's most respected D&B acts to perform across two stages, including Hybrid Minds, Kings of the Rollers, Inja, High Contrast and many more.

A blockbuster Main Stage lineup will be complemented by a smattering of homegrown talent in Area 2, curated by Born on Road and The Blast.

Tom Hoyle, co-founder of Siren and part of the team behind the renowned Sequences festival, said:

“It’s great to be back at the harbourside this year, launching Siren as a new series of events for Bristol. We will be collaborating with some of the city’s best music brands and acts to produce a whole weekend of music.

“Groove Armada is the perfect choice to kick off the weekend. Their live show is an absolute must-see, bringing their back catalogue to life on stage with musicians, dancing and a few surprises.”

Tickets for the two events taking place as part of the first edition of Siren are on sale now, but are expected to sell out well in advance of the July dates.
