Catch emerging and established theatre actors in Bristol next year.

Producers of an all-new version of the hit musical Sister Act have announced the production's cast, including television and musical theatre star Sandra Marvin.

The show will run for a short stint in Bristol from 6-18 March 2023 at the Hippodrome, forming part of a lengthy tour delayed by the pandemic that begins in Ireland in September 2022.

More information can be found via Sister Act's webpage. Tickets can be purchased here.

Based on the iconic 1992 movie starring Whoopi Goldberg, this stage tribute to the universal power of friendship, sisterhood and music tells the hilarious story of the disco diva, Deloris - whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a murder, subsequently being placed in witness protection at a convent.

Disguised as a nun and under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.

Having played ‘Jessie Grant’ in ITV’s 'Emmerdale' for two years, Sandra Marvin moved into theatre playing 'Becky' in 'Waitress'. With numerous other stage credits to her name, she will now play Deloris Van Cartier in this production.

Alongside Marvin, 'Birds of a Feather' actor Lesley Joseph plays ‘Mother Superior’, Olivier Award winner Clive Rowe assumes the role of ‘Eddie Souther’, and 'Hairspray' star Lizzie Bea plays ‘Sister Mary Robert’.

The cast also includes Jeremy Secomb, Graham McDuff, Tricia Deighton, Lori Haley Fox, Damian Buhagiar, Tom Hopcroft, Bradley Judge, Tanya Edwards, Catherine Millsom, Anne Smith, Emma Ralston, Jermaine Woods, Michael Ward, and Caroline Bateson.

Sister Act is directed by Bill Buckhurst and choreographed by Alistair David, and features original music by Tony and 8-time Oscar winner Alan Menken. Jamie Wilson and Whoopi Goldberg assume production duties.
