Enjoy another stellar lineup of live music, dance, water sports and much more on Bristol's historic Harbourside.

The 50th edition of the much-loved Bristol Harbour Festival will be taking place this summer, with organisers currently putting the finishing touches on one of their most ambitious festival programmes to date.

Scheduled to run from 15 - 18 July, this year's Harbour Festival will feature input from artists and creatives based across the city, celebrating Bristol's rich heritage and vibrant cultural scene.

Fancy getting involved this year? The festival team have opened an Expression of Interest programme for those looking to perform or take part in its 50th Anniversary - find out more and apply here before the deadline on 31 March.

Speaking on the announcement of the 50th Anniversary, Bristol City Councillor Ellie King said:

“As the city continues to recover from the impacts of the pandemic and we all begin to rediscover life outside of COVID restrictions, the return of one of our flagship festivals marks a turning moment in Bristol’s recent history.

“It represents a new beginning by celebrating the backbone of the city’s heritage. The festival will provide opportunities for communities across the city to get involved through art and music projects whilst providing the chance for individuals or groups to perform to an audience of tens of thousands.

“With over one mile of entertainment planned across the harbourside, this year’s festival provides the perfect setting for us all to reconnect with the city and our communities.”

To mark 50 years of the Bristol Harbour Festival, this summer's theme will be 'Ebb and Flow', exploring the changing face of the city in line with the transformation of the harbour over the course of half a century.

Leading lights of Bristol's cultural sector are involved in the planning of the 2022 festival programme, with Cirque Bijou, Trinity Community Arts and Thekla among the organisers.

Alongside another bumper lineup of events and performances, a fleet of feature vessels will arrive at the harbour during the festival, made up of more than 300 boats, yachts and ships.
