Bristol Beacon unveil new talent development programme for 18-25 year olds

Bristol Beacon have opened applications for a new talent development programme, helping young and emerging artists work on their craft and forge a path into the music industry.
Launching in March, Future Proof is open to 18-25 year olds and will offer guidance from industry professionals, personal development programmes, workshops with like-minded creatives and more over the course of 18 months.
Applications for the scheme will be closing on Thursday 17 February. Find out more and register to take part here.

Speaking on the launch of Future Proof, Bristol Beacon Creative Producer, Owen Parry, said: “This special project has come at an exciting time where we can work alongside early-stage creatives in the lead-up to our venue’s exciting reopening.
“The idea is that through these relationships, we can learn and grow together by supporting each other’s development. We look forward to connecting and collaborating with local music creators and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
“The project we have designed will help open up access to exploring careers in music for people aged 18-25, particularly those who are traditionally underrepresented; and to facilitate creative innovation with new and diverse ideas.”

Successful applicants will be fully supported in their artistic development throughout the course, and will be given the opportunity to connect and share ideas with experienced professionals as well as their peers.
Each participant will be allocated an industry mentor to take part in regular one-to-one sessions, alongside group sessions and workshops at regular intervals. Personal grants of up to £1000 are also being made available to spend on studio access and equipment.
Future Proof has been scheduled to run right up to the Bristol Beacon's long-awaited reopening in 2023, and its participants will be offered a chance to feed into the venue's creative vision for years to come.
Applications must be completed before Thursday 17 February, ahead of the start of the course on Monday 23 March.
