Plant trees with Heart of BS13 this February half term

This February, take yourself and your family to Heart of BS13's much-loved Roundhouse site to plant saplings on one of the organisation's community tree planting days.
There will be two sessions running during February half term on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23, both beginning at 12:00 and finishing at 16:00.
Families and individuals are welcome at the planting and all participants will receive a delicious free lunch. Call or email Kirsty from Heart of BS13 to book your place or for more information. Contact details can be found via the organisation's website.

Heart of BS13 was founded in 1990 by a small group of local residents who wanted to address specific health issues through connection with the local environment.
Since then, the organisation has grown and expanded its remit, now offering mental health support and targeted nutrition and cooking activities. More recently, the group has adopted a focus on social enterprise.
The community group was re-named in 2020 when Hartcliffe Health Environment Action Group became Heart of BS13, and a new approach to work was launched alongside this name change.
Producing quality, pre-prepared, home-style ready meals, the organisation is aiming to tackle food poverty in the BS13 area, also operating a vegetable garden to sell healthy produce as part of its social enterprise.
Heart of BS13 is also a community climate action group reinvigorating the Roundhouse site and hosting workshops about local climate action. The organisation also runs Harcliffe City Farm with the aim of turning it into a thriving hub of community activity.
