Following on form the success of ‘Fireside Tales’ and ‘Christmas Tales’, Pickled Image present ‘Woodland Tales’ – a spellbinding puppet show with an environmental theme for children aged 3-8.

Brought to the stage by Granddad of Pickled Image, the play runs from Wednesday 23 – Saturday 26 February at the Old Market theatre with performances at 11:00 and 14:00 every day.

When machines begin to gather at the edge of the woods, mysterious voices are heard and a metallic smell fills the air, the animals (Laura the ladybird, Jeffrey the spider, Brett the woodlouse and Willoughby the woodpecker) are worried.

Velda the Vixen knows Granddad is the only person who can save them but is there enough time to save the forest? This beautiful tale is told through enchanting puppeteering with an important environmental message woven into its very fabric.

‘Woodland Tales’ follows on from ‘Fireside Tales’ (cosy stories told around the campfire) and ‘Christmas Tales’ (a show featuring festive stories of gnomes and other woodland creatures), both of which have proved well loved production.

Pickled Image was formed in 2000 and specialises in live puppetry performance. Throughout its twenty-two-year history, the company have become extremely well respected within their field. Head to the company's website for more information about what they do.

The Wardrobe Theatre is a fringe studio venue in the heart of Old Market presenting a lovingly curated blend of theatre, comedy, spoken word, dance and puppetry with a focus on emerging Bristol talent.
