Imarhan has announced a gig next spring (Tuesday 15 Match) at esteemed Bristol venue Exchange.

The Algerian outfit will embark upon a UK/European tour early next year to support the launch of their third album, Aboogi, scheduled for release in January 2022.

United with their collaborators in the spirit of resistance and social change, the quintet's latest effort is expected to be their most expansive yet - fusing traditional Tuareg sounds with other global styles they have encountered.

The band are known for their stirring and energetic live shows, blurring the lines between funk, fuzz, disco, and rock.

Aboogi was recorded in Imarhan's home city, Tamanrasset, after they constructed a professional studio - the first to ever be built in the city - designed to serve musicians in the region.

Bandleader Iyad Moussa Ben Abderahmane said in a statement, “Aboogi reflects the colors of Tamanrasset, what we experience in everyday life. We give space to the wind and the natural energies, to the sun and the sand. We want to express their colors through music.”
