Catch the no-nonsense New Yorkers on stage at the O2 Academy next year.

Heavy metal frontrunners Anthrax have revealed a full list of dates for their eagerly-anticipated 40th-anniversary tour, taking them across the UK and Europe from September to November 2022.

Widely regarded among the most influential acts of the emerging thrash and speed metal scene of the 1980s, Anthrax have sold more than ten million albums globally and earned an army of dedicated fans during their prolific career.

Alongside special guests Municipal Waste, the band will be performing live at Bristol's O2 Academy on 6 October 2022 - find out more and secure your tickets here.

Formed in Queens, New York in the early 80s, Anthrax have released 11 full-length studio albums during their 40-year tenure, most recently 2016's For All Kings.

Over the years the band have consistently broken down barriers and gone and beyond what fans and critics have expected of them, collaborating with Public Enemy on a cover of their track 'Bring The Noise' in 1991.

Since 2017 Anthrax have been working on their 12th studio album, getting together and writing tracks between live tours and other performing duties.

In a November 2020 interview, founding member Scott Ian said Anthrax would "certainly be ready to make a record next year", but added that the release date could be pushed back until the band are able to play in front of crowds again.

Latest updates suggest they're ready to do just that, announcing an extensive UK & European tour to coincide with their milestone 40th anniversary.

Following an eight-show run in the UK, Anthrax will be performing in major cities across the continent, culminating in a closing gig at the Zurich Komplex in Switzerland on 5 November.

Tickets for Anthrax live at the O2 Academy Bristol on 6 October 2022 are on sale now but are expected to sell out well in advance - find out more and get yours here.
