Flight Club opens in Bristol city centre

Posted on: 04 Aug 2021

The new venue opened its doors to the public for the first time on Friday 30 July. 365Bristol went along to see what all the fuss is about.

Driven by the success of its 'social darts' experience elsewhere in the UK and US, Flight Club has opened its first bar in the southwest, adding to the venues that have been responsible for over 170 million darts being thrown.

The venue, located along Corn Street, is the latest addition to an area known for its vibrant nightlife, and the newest member of a growing crop of activity bars in the city.

Within walking distance of Flight Club is Kongs, an arcade gaming venue, The Lanes, a ten-pin bowling bar, and Chance and Counters, a board game pub.

Flight Club, however, stands out, owing to the creativity and vision of its founders. Darts is by no means new to bars, but the venue's concept of 'social darts' has added an entirely new dimension to the longstanding pub game.

Through introducing arcade-style mini games to the oche - such as Killer, where the primary aim is to target and eliminate your rivals, and Quackshot, which tests precision - darts has been brought into the 21st century.

The fast-paced nature of the mini games adds a sense of urgency that makes them totally engrossing and exciting, and bespoke dart tracking technology removes the usual delays and strain associated with mental maths.

The heady atmosphere created by high-octane darts is complimented by a slick upmarket modern décor with a subtle fairground feel throughout that adds energy and atmosphere to the space.

Flight Club is not merely a place to play darts and boasts a robust drinks menu and mouth-watering food that caters to all dietary requirements. If you don't fancy darts, it's a great spot for your weekend night out.

CEO, Steve Moore, who co-founded Flight Club said:  “Bristol is a city that excites us a lot and it’s great to have opened our doors to the wonderfully welcoming Bristolians. We’re so excited to be bringing joy to more people and just in time for summer celebrations!

"The area is famous for its lively hospitality scene and we’re just thrilled to be a part of it. It’s still early days, but it’s safe to say that we feel very much at home in our new location!”

Flight Club Bristol bookings are now open. Oches at other their venues are regularly reserved up to three months in advance so book your place here.
