Safe market shopping experience coming to BS16 this weekend

Posted on: 15 Jul 2021

A selection of makers from the BS16 area are coming together this weekend to showcase the extraordinary creative talent in the area.

BSpoke16 will run from 16-18 July from 10:00 to 16:00 every day across numerous locations, bringing a safe market shopping experience where people can admire, browse and buy hand-crafted products to the North East of Bristol.

A year on from the first outdoor trail, the third installment of the popular event promises to be the biggest yet, with over 100 makers set to exhibit their work.

Lisa Malyon Draws, one of the creators, explained: “With many of my art exhibitions cancelled in 2020 I really appreciated the opportunity to exhibit my artwork, make some sales and promote my art practice and all from my front garden!

“I welcome the opportunity to meet my neighbours again this year!”

Participating creators are each bringing their own individual styles and products to the trail, with a variety of handmade drawings,
paintings, prints, hand-cut jewellery, ceramics, wooden products, cards and unique gifts on offer.

Some vendors will also be offering demonstrations of their techniques to help attendees learn the tricks of the trade.

Keisha Hepworth, another creator, explained: “(This is) My first face-to-face market and I loved every part of it, from getting to know my neighbours, local community and learning about the amazing amount of creatives within BS16.”
