Propyard is set to take over the site of a former torpedo factory.

An all-new music and arts venue is set to open its doors this weekend, promising to offer a one-of-a-kind nightlife experience to the people of Bristol.

Developed by a collective of local events specialists, Propyard has a capacity of over 500, even with social distancing measures in place.

The space will officially open this Friday 9 July, and will be hosting a wide range of events through the coming weeks, from DJ sets and live performances to art exhibitions, foodie pop-ups and more.

Located on Feeder Road in St Phillips, Propyard is set over a half indoor-half outdoor hangar. The venue team have kept many of the building's original fittings, including a huge industrial crane forming part of the stage setup.

Adding a DJ booth, film-set props and contemporary handmade furniture, the Propyard team have fully catered the space to host a range of events from Thursday to Sunday through the summer.

Alongside its entertainment offering, the venue will be home to a variety of popular Bristol street food vendors, with Loki Poké, Cyprus Kitchen and Paletas among those ready to set up shop.

Speaking ahead of the venue's full opening, Propyard Marketing Director and revered Bristol DJ Sam Watts (aka Maxxi Soundsystem) said:

“Propyard is the culmination of months of work to transform this disused space in a really fantastic but often underrepresented part of the city.

“We are booking a stellar lineup of entertainment from all over the UK, as well as curating art and cultural events within our spaces.

“It’s perfect for light installations, experiential events and music, and big enough to be spacious and safe if we need to maintain social distancing through the summer.”

For more information, or to follow news and updates from the venue in the coming weeks, head to the Propyard website or find the team on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
