Basement 45 relaunch in-house DJ practice sessions

Posted on: 30 Jun 2021

Re-familiarise yourself with a proper setup at one of Bristol's longest-running club venues.

Basement 45 are once again taking bookings for their popular in-house DJ sessions, giving local artists and promoters the chance to hone their craft in a fully-functional club setting ahead of the long-awaited return of Bristol nightlife.

With the venue still unable to reopen in full until 19 July at the earliest, the team are offering the use of their space for groups of up to six people to enjoy their own two-hour sessions.

Bookings are available from 17:00-22:00, priced between £25 and £45, with drinks available and the full soundsystem set up and ready to go.

Having been running tutoring courses and practice sessions alongside their events programme for more than two decades, the Basement 45 team have overseen the development of an array of local DJs, many of which have gone on to host and play at some of Bristol's best-loved parties.

The Frogmore Street venue - one of Bristol's longest-running clubs - has played and continues to play a major role in the city's burgeoning underground scene.

The closure of grassroots venues and absence of a regular summer events calendar is obviously a huge loss to Bristol nightlife, but Basement 45 are offering artists the chance to get some practical, hands-on experience ahead of a scheduled nationwide reopening in July.

Whether you're looking to sharpen up your DJing skills post-lockdown, or you just fancy a small party with your mates in a new setting, you can make use of Basement 45's famed three-deck setup, including CDJ 2000s NXS2, Technics 1200s and a DJM 900 NXS2 mixer.
