As normality resumes across Bristol and beyond post-lockdown, some of the city's best-loved shopping areas are gearing up for the return of the public in the coming weeks.

The Arcade, Bristol's historic city centre shopping quarter, is one of those areas, brimming with renowned independent businesses offering a wide range of goods and services.

German Polosin, renowned horological specialists and watchmakers, recently became the latest addition to The Arcade, stocking a selection of luxury, hard-to-find and affordable timepieces alongside their repair and restoration service.

Read on for a quick guide to Bristol's newest independent watchmakers, and be sure to pop in next time you're browsing the shops in BS1.

In business in the UK since 2019, German Polosin is, on one hand, a boutique showcase of a wide range of unique watches, and on the other, a fully-fledged horological repair and servicing workshop equipped to deal with all kinds of restoration requirements.

One of two locations for the business - the other has been serving the people of Moscow from the Konstantin Chaykin horological manufactory since 2006 - their Bristol branch is the latest addition to a fantastic range of independents situated inside The Arcade.

Namesake founder, German Polosin, has worked with vintage, antique and rare watches for more than fifteen years, having developed a hobby for horology into a fully-fledged professional service in the mid-2000s.

Mainly specialising in vintage watch restoration and watch case making, Polosin has handled hundreds of timepieces over the years, and has passed on his technological expertise to his passionate, knowledgeable retail team.

German Polisin is located at Unit 13 of The Arcade, at the heart of Broadmead shopping centre. The store will be open to shoppers seven days a week, while repair requests and enquiries can be made via email.
