The Music Venue Trust have released a comprehensive programme of all the live events taking place at grassroots venues across the UK in May, coinciding with the latest change to the government's coronavirus safety guidelines.

As of today (Monday 17 April), venues of all sizes are permitted to hold socially-distanced indoor live performances, in line with the latest phase of the 'roadmap' system.

With many venues forced to remain closed for most of the past year, and some having been unable to reopen through the entirety of the pandemic, the Music Venue Trust are making it as easy as possible to find out what's coming up in your area.

Playing a vital role in speaking out in support of the British music and events industries throughout the coronavirus crisis, the Music Venue Trust's #SaveOurVenues campaign brought attention to the plight of grassroots venues nationwide.

Now, as plans are laid out for a return to normality in the coming months, the team have launched their #ReviveLive initiative, which aims to support the safe reopening of every music venue in the UK.

To get the ball rolling, a comprehensive guide to every single grassroots live show taking place in May has been put together, featuring venues of all shapes and sizes and spanning a diverse range of genres.

Bristol's celebrated music scene is well-represented, with Strange Brew, The Louisiana and The Crofters Rights among the beloved venues hosting a total of 75 shows before the end of the month.

The list also features some eagerly-anticipated hometown shows for a selection of Bristol-based artists and collectives, including Ishmael Ensemble, Langkamer and Worm Disco Club.

For a comprehensive guide to the live performances taking place across Bristol and the rest of the UK in May, to find out more or to follow news and updates on the #ReviveLive campaign in the coming weeks, head to the Music Venue Trust website or find them on Twitter.
