The acclaimed vocalist is back with his first release of 2021.

Bristol-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist James Humphrys has today (Friday 9 April) released his latest new single, 'Let It Out, Keep It In'.

The track becomes Humphrys' first release of the year, having dropped a well-received EP, Memory Palace, alongside a selection of standalone singles in 2020.

'Let It Out, Keep It In' is available now to stream via Spotify and Soundcloud, and can also be found on our Bristol Radio Spotify playlist.

Speaking on the inspiration for his latest track, Humphrys said: “With an end of lockdown in sight, I can’t help but feel excited to be reunited with my pals and engage in stupidly late nights again.

“'Let It Out, Keep It In' reminisces nights out and after-parties with friends before the pandemic. It's about trying to convince a friend to turn to the dark side and keep going that little bit longer, even if the sun is rising and the birds are chirping."

Co-produced and mixed by fellow Westcountry artist Max Rad, the new single represents another step forward for Humphrys' lyricism and the development of his catchy, infectiously positive pop sound.

Tipped to become "something truly special" by BBC Introducing and "defiant and deliberate" by Darkus Magazine, James Humphrys has established himself as one to watch on Bristol's evergreen music scene in recent years.

Having already taken the stage at an array of celebrated venues at this early stage of his career, Humphrys is expected to hit the ground running once Bristol's live music scene reopens post-lockdown.
