Penny Brohn UK launch 150-mile fundraising challenge for April

Posted on: 22 Mar 2021

Every penny raised will go towards helping the Bristol-based charity keep their services running.

Cancer care charity Penny Brohn UK have announced a huge fundraising challenge for the people of Bristol, encouraging locals to walk, jog or run a total distance of 150 miles in April.

Severely affected by the coronavirus crisis and the cancellation of most of their fundraising events over the course of the past year, Penny Brohn recently issued an urgent appeal for support to enable them to continue giving their support to people living with cancer.

Signups for the charity's 150 Mile Challenge, kicking off on Thursday 1 April, are open now and can be found here.

Whether you're walking or running, taking the kids or the dog, going it alone or getting out with friends or colleagues, Penny Brohn are encouraging anyone and everyone to get outdoors in April and complete their sponsored challenge.

With so many of us working towards daily step challenges during lockdown, now is the perfect time to make those miles count and encourage those around you to donate in support of a vital Bristol-based charity.

With more than 40 years' experience, Penny Brohn UK recognises that people with cancer need more than medicine. Their whole-person approach offers personalised care from the point of diagnosis into treatment and throughout survivorship.

This is even more true today, as life with cancer has been even more frightening as people manage the impact of the coronavirus.

Many cancer patients have faced months of shielding and isolating away from their loved ones when they need them most, resulting in many more people experiencing anxiety and depression, and forcing Penny Brohn to adapt their services.
