After months of lockdown and a complete loss of live events nationwide during the coronavirus pandemic, comics across the UK are eager to get back to the live circuit once restrictions are lifted this summer.
Headlining a bumper crop of nine unmissable Bristol Comedy Garden shows are acclaimed writer and director Simon Amstell, multi-award-winning comic Sara Pascoe, former Mock the Week host Dara O'Briain and The Last Leg's Josh Widdicombe.
They'll be joined by Nish Kumar and Rachel Parris (both formerly of The Mash Report but performing separately), Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Bridget Christie, fast-rising comic and presenter Tom Allen and Taskmaster's Jamali Maddix among others.
A range of comedy festival favourites and revered up-and-comers are also involved, including Ed Gamble, Phil Wang, Sophie Duker, Sarah Keyworth, Ray Badram and Maisie Adam.
In line with the latest government guidelines, tickets are available in groups of two or four, with seating laid out to ensure social-distancing criteria are met across the site.
Additional safety measures will be put in place throughout the event, including multiple entry points, one-way systems, appropriate hygiene facilities and PPE for all staff.
Speaking on the lineup announcement for Bristol Comedy Garden 2021, organisers 57 Festivals said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing the Comedy Garden back.
“It was heartbreaking to have to cancel last year’s event and we consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have been able to reimagine the event to suit these challenging times.
“We’ve got an unbelievable line-up, even by our standards, and can’t wait to get these acts in front of our wonderful Bristol audiences.”
Tickets for the Bristol Comedy Garden, running on The Downs from Wednesday 2 - Sunday 6 June, are on sale now and can be found here.
