The Wave are taking bookings once again following months of closure.

The team behind innovative inland surf centre The Wave have confirmed a post-lockdown reopening date, with bookings now open from Monday 29 March onwards.

Having opened in 2019 following years of planning and consultation, the centre has been forced to remain closed during successive lockdowns since the beginning of the pandemic, open briefly last summer before restrictions were reintroduced.

With new safety measures in place, The Wave is inviting surfers of all ages and abilities, to test the waters at the UK's first full-size inland facility. Find out more and book your visit here.

Operating from their HQ in BS35, The Wave team have been hard at work in recent weeks preparing for another full reopening, establishing new safety measures across the site in line with the latest government guidelines.

As well as requiring all visitors to pre-book, The Wave will be operating a socially-distanced queuing system upon entry to the park, following a new one-way system across the site and limiting sessions to no more than five surfers.

The Wave was the realisation of an almost decade-long dream of founder Nick Hounsfield to establish a proper inland surfing hub in Bristol, and improve the health and wellbeing of people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Powered by pioneering wave-making technology, The Wave's 200m surfing lake allows surfers of all abilities to catch some waves in a safe and fun environment, with Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Expert sessions available.

Revealing the news across their social media channels, The Wave said they could "hear the swell" as they get ready to reopen their doors.

"It’s been a long winter lockdown and we can’t wait to get back in the water for a much-needed hit of blue health," they added as part of a statement posted to their website.

Those who have had surf sessions and bookings up to and on Sunday 28 March cancelled due to the centre's closure are set to be contacted by the customer service team in the coming days.
