As part of an announcement made last night (Wednesday 3 March), PRSC said: "[We] are delighted to reveal our plans for the School of Activism, a programme of talks and workshops to change the world.
"Over the last few months we have been beavering away behind the scenes, talking to all the inspirational people in our address books about sharing their ideas to help all of us become more empowered and active citizens."
The School of Activism 2.0 curriculum is intended to provide locals with the skills to write more persuasively, plan and manage campaigns, make videos and other digital resources, challenge those in power and engage creativity.
Featuring the likes of esteemed poet Lawrence Hoo, prolific photographer Colin Moody and author Gemma Lawrence, talks will be led by a selection of Bristol-based artists, academics and action groups.
Alongside several one-off events, the Know Your Rights series will cover everything from squatting and rough sleeping to street art, dealing with police at demos and more.
Young people also have the chance to get involved, with three Philosophy for Children talks and workshops on creativity, protest history and engaging with tech taking place as part of the School of Activism programme.
Speaking on the launch of the series, PRSC's School of Activism Co-ordinator, Lisa Furness, said:
“[The events are] designed to enable the people of Bristol and beyond to gain skills, confidence and practical tools to address the issues that concern them, whether that be campaigning for greater equality or fighting against land injustice”.
Regardless of age, background, ethnicity or income, everyone is invited to get involved and become a change-maker this Easter, with all event tickets available on a pay-what-you-can basis.
All events are currently scheduled to take place on Zoom due to coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
