Breaking Bread launch all-new takeaway service
Posted on: 05 Feb 2021Enjoy restaurant-quality dishes from the comfort of your own home.
The co-operative behind last year's wildly popular Breaking Bread pop-up have devised a brand-new menu of dishes that can be enjoyed at home, with Breaking Bread at Home officially taking orders from today (Friday 5 February).
With a view to supporting Bristol independents while many remain closed during lockdown, the new service will be offering up delicious, freshly-made meals from some of the city's best-loved restaurants, including Bianchis, Salt & Malt and The Pony & Trap.
All profits from Breaking Bread at Home will go towards supporting a growing number of people in and around Bristol who are facing food vulnerability as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Orders for collection on Friday 12 February are open now - find out more and place yours here.

Led by renowned chefs Josh Eggleton and Ben Harvey, Breaking Bread at Home represents a short-but-sweet selection of hearty, warming dishes to be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home.
The new project follows on from last year's hugely successful dining pop-up on The Downs, which saw the Breaking Bread team take up a three-month residency and provide employment opportunities for hundreds of local hospitality and events staff.
Their debut takeaway menu includes a Salt & Malt Fish Pie, Bianchis Smoked Mozzarella & Mushroom Lasagne and The Pony & Trap Cottage Pie, all prepped and assembled by the respective restaurant teams using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Orders are open from today, with the first collections to be made on Friday 12 February. Going forwards, orders can be placed every week from Saturday to Wednesday, ready to be collected from one of four pick-up points the following Friday from 12:00-18:00.
At launch, the four confirmed pick-up points are as follows:
- The Bristol Beer Factory Taproom, 291 North Street, Southville, BS3 1JP
- Salt & Malt - Cargo 2 Wapping Wharf, Gaol Ferry Steps, BS1 6WD
- Bianchis - 1-3 York Rd, Montpelier, BS6 5QB
- Pasta Loco - 37A Cotham Hill, Redland, Bristol, BS6 6JY
Speaking on the launch of Breaking Bread at Home, Josh Eggleton said: “Many of the City’s food businesses have come together to support the City’s homeless and those unable to feed themselves and their families during this crisis.
“But we need to make it more sustainable for the future, fostering the creation of a circular economy around our food industry.
“This collaboration brings restaurant quality ready meals to the City, and every one will help us to make meals for those in need.”
