Shunk Films' Hungry Joe is also in the running for several awards.

A short horror film written and produced in Bristol has been made available to stream on Amazon Prime, having won a number of awards since its 2019 release and been nominated for more in 2021.

Hungry Joe, the story of a boy who can't stop eating as he approaches his teenage years, stars acclaimed local actors Joe Sims, Laura Bayston and Andrew Greaves, and has been shown at film festivals around the world.

Amazon Prime members can stream the full 23-minute short here.

Produced by Bristol-based filmmakers Paul Holbrook and Sam Dawe, Hungry Joe has already scooped awards for Best Film, Best Actor and Best Short Film at events across Europe and North America.

The eerie, atmospheric short sees mum Laura become increasingly troubled by her son's out-of-control eating habit, unable to reach out to friends, family or even medical staff for help.

Now Paul and Sam, who created the film under their label, Shunk Films, believe they could be in line for a BAFTA nomination after receiving a nod at the London Critics Awards.

Hungry Joe represents the latest in a long line of critically-acclaimed releases from the prolific film company, having previously spanned a range of genres and tackled issues surrounding mental illness and family in Sunday WorshipA Girl and Her Gun and Cell.
