Bristol City's FA Cup Fourth Round opponents revealed

Bristol City's FA Cup Fourth Round opponents revealed

Posted on: 12 Jan 2021

The Robins face a tricky away trip later this month.

The draw has been made for the next round of the FA Cup, with Bristol City set to travel to The Den to take on fellow Championship side Millwall.

City will be in good spirits following last weekend's Third Round win over Portsmouth, and would face a fixture against Premier League bottom strugglers Sheffield United or League One side Plymouth Argyle if they reach the next stage of the competition.

Fourth Round fixtures are set to take place on the weekend beginning on Friday 22 January.

Robins fans will be relieved to have missed out on the high-flyers in last night's draw, and could be forgiven for thinking a cup run could be on the cards as the squad prepare for their next fixture.

The Premier League 'big six' of Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs and Man City are still in the competition, but Dean Holden's side would avoid coming up against them until at least the Quarter Finals, should they manage to progress.

City would fancy their chances against Sheffield United - who scraped past Bristol Rovers in the Third Round - or Plymouth Argyle in February.

Goals from Famara Diédhiou and Chris Martin were enough to see off a tough Portsmouth side over the weekend, and sights are now set on the Championship as City face fellow promotion chasers Brentford, Preston and Norwich in the coming days.
