Posted on: 07 Jan 2021

Tickets for the eagerly-anticipated shows are still available in limited numbers.

The Bristol Hippodrome team have today (Thursday 7 January) confirmed new dates for Hairspray The Musical, with the production set to arrive for an eight-show run between Monday 21 and Saturday 26 June.

Originally due to take place this month, the shows were postponed late last year amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis and the theatre's decision to suspend all performances until February 2021 at the earliest.

The Hippodrome have confirmed bookings for the original dates have been transferred over, and ticket holders are set to be contacted with updated information and refund options.

Guaranteed to leave you dancing the night away, Hairspray The Musical follows the story of Tracy Turnblad, a larger-than-life high school student on a mission to follow her dream of dancing on national TV.

Her audition on a local station makes her a star, and it's not long before she uses her newfound fame to fight for equality, winning the affections of local heartthrob Link Larkin along the way.

Set in 1960s Baltimore, the show features hit songs like 'Welcome to the 60s', 'You Can't Stop the Beat' and 'The Nicest Kids in Town', emerging over the years as one of the UK's best-loved stage musicals.

Hairspray the Musical will be showing at the Bristol Hippodrome from Monday 21 - Saturday 26 June 2021. Find out more about the show and book your tickets here.
