The Gallimaufry launch brand-new takeaway menu

Posted on: 03 Dec 2020

Enjoy the bar's top-notch dishes in the comfort of your own home.

The Gallimaufry have launched an all-new takeaway menu for the coming weeks, offering up a range of carefully-prepared dishes for collection as the bar itself is forced to remain closed under Bristol's Tier 3 restrictions.

Treat yourself to a hearty Wild Mushroom, Chestnut and Cashew Arancini, a decadent Somerset Beef Ragu, a Spiced Ginger Pudding or one of three small plates, all freshly-made using locally-sourced ingredients wherever possible.

Dishes are served cold, with easy-to-follow heating instructions provided. Orders can be placed online here, available for collection from 16:00-18:30 every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

One of Gloucester Road's best-loved bars, The Gallimaufry has been hard at work throughout 2020, repeatedly adapting their business and adjusting their service amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Not only have they reopened post-lockdown (and closed again), rearranged their seating to meet social distancing guidelines and successfully launched a new menu this year, the team have been working alongside Bristol charities to support people in need throughout the pandemic.

As well as providing their kitchen space for volunteers to prepare dishes for Caring in Bristol's innovative Cheers Drive project, The Gallimaufry have used their empty space to pack and prepare food parcels to be distributed by the Bristol Food Union.

The bar was also one of several Bristol independents to offer free meals to local children during holidays in October, in response to a government vote against extending the state's Free School Meals programme.

With hospitality venues across Bristol set to remain closed for the coming weeks, it's vital that we do all we can to show our support and help independents stay afloat.

For more information on The Gallimaufry's new menu, to place an order or to make an enquiry, find their new online ordering system here.

Alternatively, head to The Gallimaufry's Instagram page, like this post and tag a friend for your chance to win a meal for two with a bottle of wine! Keep your eyes peeled for an announcement of the winners on Friday.
