The band have donated two special raffle prizes to raise money for grassroots music venues.

IDLES have announced an exclusive raffle draw for fans, offering up a Hiwatt guitar amp head - used during the band's recent Lock-in Sessions at Abbey Road - and a Hiwatt guitar cab to raise money for the #SaveOurVenues campaign.

Aiming to raise a total of £10,000, donations will be used to support grassroots music venues across the UK that have been seriously affected by the coronavirus crisis.

All entries received on the raffle's crowdfunding page will receive an email code for a one-off chance to hear IDLES' Live at Ramsgate Hall, and be in with a shout of winning the prize draw.

Widely regarded as one of the most exciting bands coming out of the UK right now, IDLES' stock has been constantly on the rise since they emerged in Bristol in the mid-2010s.

Following on from the huge success of their first two albums, Brutalism in 2017 and Joy as an Act of Resistance a year later, IDLES' recently released their eagerly-anticipated third record, Ultra Mono, reaching Number One in the UK Albums Chart.

Like so many others, the band nurtured and developed their sound on grassroots stages across the UK, with small venues providing a vital platform in their early years.

Speaking on the launch of the prize draw, IDLES guitarist, Mark Bowen, said: "We would have been in the middle of gigging season right now, where grassroots music venues and musicians make their bread and butter, and they need your support now more than ever.

"Grassroots music venues are where music progresses, they are the places where future festival headliners start out, where the music on the fringes gets an opportunity to grow and turn into popular music of the future.

"They are places of escapism and to speak to our times, make us think of the world around us. They are our culture."

The SaveOurVenues campaign.

Launched back in April when it emerged that venues across the UK would be seriously impacted by the pandemic, the #SaveOurVenues campaign aims to raise vital funds to help support and safeguard the nation's grassroots music scene.

Recently announcing its ‘Traffic Light’ report as part of the ongoing campaign, the Music Venue Trust highlighted 30 British venues in imminent danger of permanent closure.

Entries into IDLES' fundraising raffle must be made before 18:00 on Thursday 26 November to be counted. The winner will be chosen at random and contacted before Monday 30 November.
