Bristol Food Union launch festive food boxes to support people in need this Christmas

Posted on: 10 Nov 2020

'Buy one, gift one' in support of Bristol independents and the local community this Christmas.

Bristol Food Union have teamed up with some of the city's top food and drink producers to launch Bristol Food Box, a scheme that encourages people to 'buy one, gift one' to support those in need this Christmas.

Filled with delicious, Bristol-made treats, from craft beer to cheese and crackers, proceeds from each Bristol Food Box will go towards supporting local communities as well as the city's food and drink industry.

A purchase from and/or a donation to the Bristol Food Box project is a great way to get behind your community this Christmas - head to the Bristol Food Union website to find out more.

In the absence of a work Christmas party this year, or faced with the possibility that you might not be able to visit loved ones during the festive season, a Bristol Food Box is a great way to show you're thinking of someone while also showing support for your city.

Available in two sizes, you can choose from a sweet or savoury box made up of top-notch goodies sourced entirely from Bristol-based producers.

As well as gifting a Food Box to friends, family or colleagues, Bristol Food Union ask that you dig deep and 'give one' by donating £18.50 to secure Christmas provisions for a family in need.

The practical family hampers include all the makings of a Christmas meal, as well as a few much-needed luxuries. Donated boxes will be delivered to families across Bristol from 19 - 23 December.

Organised and launched in collaboration with local charity Unique Voice, 10% of each Bristol Food Box 'Buy One' sale will go towards creative work with excluded and vulnerable children.

For more information on the Bristol Food Box project, to put an order in or to make a donation, head to the Bristol Food Union website.
