There's a drive-in Christmas panto coming to Bristol Airport this year

Christmas cancelled? Oh no, it isn't!

 

Car Park Panto will be touching down in Bristol this festive season, bringing a special performance of Horrible Histories' Horrible Christmas to a drive-in stage at Bristol Airport on Saturday 19 December.

 

Thought to be the world's first drive-in Christmas panto production, a phenomenal response to the initial announcement of the nationwide run saw the first ten venues sell out within days of being announced.

Just when you thought all was lost and this year's Christmas shows were off the table, Horrible Histories will be returning to stages across the UK with their own take on the festive season.

 

Horrible Christmas tells the tale of how Christmas came to be, inviting families to enjoy a yuletide story and get into the festive spirit in a safe, socially-distanced manner, from thei comfort of their own car!

 

The all-new production, created by the Birmingham Stage Company, follows one young boy in his quest to save the day - and save Christmas - when the holidays come under threat from a jolly man dressed in red.

 

From Victorian villains to Medieval monks, Puritan parties to Tudor treats, join Horrible Histories on a hair-raising adventure through the history of Christmas as Charles Dickens, Oliver Cromwell, King Henry VIII and many more join forces to save the festive season!

Speaking on the announcement of the new tour dates, actor and stage manager Neal Foster expressed his excitement at being able to safely return to the stage amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

 

"We can't wait to be back on stage in cities and towns that will be crying out for a Christmas show to entertain their families," he said.

 

"As you’d expect from Horrible Histories, it’s not a traditional pantomime, but a journey through the story of Christmas in the company of the season’s most fabulous characters.

 

"It’s the perfect story for families this winter, as one young boy battles to save Christmas for the world, in this hilarious, joyous and moving celebration.”

 

A limited number of tickets will be made available for the Bristol performances on Saturday 19 December, priced at £47 (plus £2.50 booking fee) per car.
