Expect 80s classics, 2019 blockbusters and family favourites.

A drive-in cinema is coming to the former Airfield in Filton this month, as part of a huge UK tour.

Adventure Drive-In from events company Adventure Cinema sees screenings of classic films, both new and old, in towns and cities across the country.

Each film will be displayed on a giant LED screen, with sound transmitted via wireless speakers given to each car upon arrival.

In Bristol, Adventure Drive-In will run from Thursday 17 September to Sunday 20 September, with films such as Grease, Back to the Future and Joker on the bill.Adventure Drive-In, Bristol

Family-friendly films will screen during the day while flicks such as Pretty Woman and The Invisible Man will start at 21:00

Working in partnership with Tesco, Adventure Drive-In is also offering free tickets NHS workers as a thank you for their work during the pandemic.

At each screening, 12 front row parking spaces will be available to NHS workers on a first-come-first-served basis.

In Bristol, ten films in total will be screened, including Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman and The Lion King. View the full schedule here

Adventure Drive-In will also visit several nearby locations, such as Taunton, Newport and Exeter.

Promising a socially distant experience, Adventure Drive-In invites passengers to pull up and enjoy the entertainment from the comfort of their own cars.

To avoid contact with staff, entry will operate with the help car registration plates, and guests are invited to bring their own food and drink to enjoy.

At each screening, attendees must remain in their vehicles at all times, except when using the toilet facilities or in case of emergency.Adventure Drive-In is coming to Bristol

Mark Thompson, Co-Director of Adventure Drive-In, said:

"We are so excited for the tour to be underway and for our guests to experience amazing drive-in entertainment after lots of anticipation.

“We’re also very excited to be working with Tesco in order to show our gratitude to NHS workers.

“We’re incredibly grateful for their hard work and dedication and are looking forward to creating a memorable experience for all those who attend.”

Tickets for Adventure Drive-In cost £27.50 plus booking fee and are available now.

Ticket holders will be given 100% money-back guarantee should anything mean that the film screenings cannot go ahead.
