The Plough beer garden is now home to eight 'booths of fun'.

One of Bristol’s favourite pubs reopens today with new seating booths in its beer garden.

The Plough is known for its live music events and friendly atmosphere. It’s also home to popular Bristol party Booty Bass.

Unlike other local pubs, The Plough opted against reopening in early July, following an easing in lockdown measures.

But today (Monday 24 August), the Easton Road pub will begin welcoming back customers with new, additional seating in its beer garden.

The Plough reopens

Sharing the news on Facebook, The Plough's owners explained:

“Its make or break. We choose Make! We can’t face doing a crowd funder to save the pub and our jobs.

“So in a bid to open the pub safely, we have taken extreme Temporary measures.

With the help of friends, the pub has built eight ‘booths of fun’ in its beer garden to aid social distancing.

The Plough will trail the new seating area between Monday and Wednesday this week, opening it from midday to 21:00.

To avoid queues, the pub will book out the new seating area in four sittings each day: 12:00 to 14:00, 14:00 to 17:00, 17:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 21:00.

To book in for a sitting, call 0117 955 8556.

Since late March, The Plough has run a free food delivery service for anyone needing fresh fruit and vegetables.

Since late March, The Plough has run a free food delivery service for anyone needing fresh fruit and vegetables.

Continuing the announcement on Facebook, The Plough team said:

“We have done, are doing and will continue to do everything we can do to make it welcoming, fun and safe.

“It’s a work in progress. The temporary measures still may not work.”

While the pub has been closed, The Plough has been hard at work supporting the community, delivering almost 12,000 boxes of fresh food to those who need it most.

The service is free and is run by a group of dedicated volunteers. Currently, the service reaches around 700 people per week.

To keep the service going, The Plough has launched a fundraiser. If you can, donate here. Without support, the service will last just two to three weeks more.
