No. 7 Boats restart harbour trips

No. 7's cross-harbour ferry is also running again.

Whether you’re a Bristol resident or a weekend visitor, it’s hard not to enjoy a boat trip around the harbour.

It’s a chance to really experience the harbourside, and get up close and personal with some of the city’s biggest landmarks, like the SS Great Britain.

For the past few months, if not all local boat services have been out of action due to COVID-19.

But as lockdown restrictions ease, some are returning to the water - including No. 7 Boat Trips. Here’s what you need to know.

No. 7 Boats

No. 7 Boats Trips is one of Bristol’s leading boat companies. Most of their boats have a distinctive look: they've got a shark's mouth on their hull.

The company was established in 1999, and since, has operated public ferry services and private charter trips around the city and on the River Avon.

This weekend, No. 7's harbour trips are starting back up again, after months on hiatus due to COVID-19.

The trip takes passengers on a route around the harbour, from the city centre to Hotwells.

As a trial, No. 7’s harbour trip will start running today (Thursday 6 August) until Sunday, 9 August.

The trip will run every 40 minutes, from 10:40 to 17:20 daily, departing from the Bristol City Centre Landing, outside Watershed.

No. 7 Boats cross-harbour ferry

Earlier this month, No. 7 also relaunched its cross-harbour ferry service (pictured above), which takes passengers between the SS Great Britain and the Harbour Inlet, near Broken Dock.

A one-way cross-harbour trip costs just £1.20, and passengers can pay contactless.

To keep staff and passengers safe, boat capacity will be reduced, and masks must be worn on board all No. 7 Boats.
