A list of cinemas in Bristol and when they are reopening

Find out when your local cinema is reopening with this handy guide.

 

Following the government’s recent announcement, businesses including hairdressers, pubs, restaurants and cinemas can start to reopen from Saturday 4 July.

 

It’s good news if you’ve been itching for a haircut, a pint or a proper sit-down meal.

 

Any businesses that reopen, however, will have to comply with strict social distancing measures to keep people safe, cinemas included. 

 

Not sure if and when your local cinema is opening its doors again? Here’s a list of Bristol cinemas and when they are reopening.


Everyman Cinema 


When: Friday 31 July


Everyman Cinema hasn't announced when its Bristol venue on Whiteladies Road will reopen. 


However, the chain has said that it will begin to open its venues from Saturday 4 July in "a few staged phases."

The Orpheus Cinema - Scott Cinemas

 

When: Friday 10 July 

 

Scott Cinema’s 3-screen cinema in Westbury Park is reopening on Friday 10 July. 

 

The chain has released some information on its website about the social distancing measures they will introduce one the cinema reopens.  

 

Measures include operating all auditoria at a limited capacity of 35% and physical distancing in the building. 
 

Watershed



When: September 2020

 

Mutli arts venue and cinema Watershed has announced it will reopen in September.

 

In a statement on the Watershed website, the team explain the reasons behind the decision: 

 

“Our current focus is on planning the safe reopening of the building, ensuring everyone is trained appropriately and making sure we have all the new systems, resources and processes in place and working well.”

Odeon

 

When: Thursday 16 July

 

Odeon, situated in the city centre, is reopening on Thursday 16 July.

 

Odeon has released information on the social distancing measures it will introduce when it reopens. Read them here.

 

Showcase Cinemas (Cabot Circus and Avonmeads)

 

When: Friday 10 July

 

Showcase Cinemas has announced it will open its Bristol locations on Friday 10 July, with tickets available from £5.

 

On the website, Showcase has set out its new systems for film fans to view before their visit.

Cineworld

 

When: Friday 10 July

 

Cineworld Bristol, located in BS14, is set to reopen on Friday 10 July, subject to final clarifications.

 

Cineworld has also released information about the social distancing measures the chain will be using to ensure a safe reopening on its website

 

Vue Cinema (Cribbs Causeway and Longwell Green)

 

When: TBC 


Vue Cinema has not yet confirmed when its venues across the country will reopen.

 

But they've told cinema fans on Twitter to keep an eye on their social media pages and website for updates.
