The Lazy Dog to reopen with new daily food menu

Posted on: 15 Jun 2020

The popular Bishopston pub is set to reopen for takeaway food and drinks this week.

The Lazy Dog have confirmed that they'll be reopening tomorrow (Tuesday 16 June) following a lengthy closure as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The pub team have put together an all-new ordering system, allowing customers to put orders in online in advance, ready for collection the following day.

As well as takeaway cocktails and draught, bottled and canned drinks, The Lazy Dog will also be launching a new food menu, set to change daily from Tuesday-Sunday.

With the pub's kitchen staples set to remain on the menu throughout the week (think their legendary Lazy Dog Cheeseburger, Vegan Katsu Burger and Jerk Chicken Burger), they'll be cooking up a range of different specials, rotating daily.

From Pork Schnitzel and Glamorgan Sausages to Friday night Fish & Chips, Jerk Pork Belly and a full Sunday Roast offering, the new menu caters for any and all tastes and should be the first port of call for anyone in the Bishopston/Horfield area looking for a top-notch takeaway.

Orders can be placed online through the pub's website, with payments to be made in advance. Orders must be placed by 20:00 the day before collection, and the team ask that customers arrive promptly to ensure everything runs smoothly and safety measures can be properly adhered to.

The pub have conducted a COVID-19 risk assessment following guidelines set by Public Health England, meaning they'll be reopening as safely as possible, minimising risk to staff and customers.

Confirming the partial reopening through their social media channels, The Lazy Dog also explained that they'll be ready to reopen at full capacity as soon as they're given the official go-ahead.

"We're currently working towards either 22nd June or 4th July but are awaiting further guidance from the government," they said.

"Things may be a little different from what you're used to but we're planning to implement any restrictions placed on service whilst retaining the feel of your much loved local boozer."

In the meantime, the pub have launched a membership scheme and line of merchandise, featuring t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags and artwork designed by local illustrator Clare Andrews.
