Lineup revealed for Bristol Takeover Online Pt 2
Posted on: 12 Jun 2020Colston Hall’s digital music festival in aid of Music Venue Trust’s national #SaveOurVenues campaign returns next weekend, on Saturday 20 June.
The lineup for the second instalment of Bristol Takeover Online, a live-streamed music festival in support of the local music scene, has been announced.
The first Bristol Music Takeover celebration, which took place in May, smashed its initial fundraising target of £10,000, with performances from Waldo's Gift, Kate Stapley and Ishmael Ensemble.
This time, an array of local music venues including Trinity Centre, Exchange, and The Fleece will each host their own takeover stages with handpicked artists.
It's all kicking off at 13:00 on Saturday 20 June via the Colston Hall YouTube channel:
So who's on the lineup for Bristol Takeover Online Pt 2?
Top Bristol artists including Doreen Doreen and Ngaio are joined on the lineup by singer-songwriter Katy J Pearson, jazz up-and-comers Hippo and multi-instrumentalist Dizraeli.
The team behind Bristol's much-loved Rivertown Festival have also been enlisted for a takeover in the absence of their full 2020 event, with vocalist Beth Rowley, roots singer Elles Bailey and Texas-born artist Jarrod Dickinson all locked in.
As before, the festival is free to view via the Colston Hall YouTube channel.
However, organisers are asking that audiences donate what they might have spent on a gig ticket to the festival's dedicated crowdfunding page, which is raising money for the local music community.
