The Great Bristol 10K: what you need to know

Did you know? Depending on your existing fitness levels, it can take just eight to ten weeks to train for a 10K. 

 

It’s good news, given The Great Bristol 10K is just over eight weeks away.

 

Looking to take part? Here’s what you need to know.

The Great Bristol 10K

This year, the Great Bristol 10K is taking place on Sunday 3 May, with races starting from 09:15.

 

You can enter now for the Great Bristol 10K. Entrants must be 15 and over, and it costs £31 per entry.

 

The race will allow participants to explore Bristol the city on safe, closed roads, during a flat and fast 10k route.

 

The route will start on Anchor Road near Millennium Square and Bristol Cathedral. Then, it’ll run parallel to the Bristol Harbour before continuing along Avon Gorge.

 

The return route will see Spike Island and the Cumberland Basin before heading along Prince Street and towards the Centre. The race will finish on Anchor Road.

The Great Bristol 10K

Prior to the day, runners will receive a run number through the post with the address provided whilst signing up. The run number must be worn on the day of the race.

 

Runners won’t need to register on the day; all you’ll need to do is fill out of the back of your run number and attach it to your front.

 

On the day, there will be a baggage drop-off area and a range of transport options, which can be found on the website. 

 

On Sunday 3 May, the Great Bristol Family Run is also taking place, starting at 12:45. A fun 1-mile race, entrants must be aged three and over to enter. Entries for the Family Run cost £9 each.

 

To participate in the Family Run, children under the age of 16 years old need to be accompanied by an adult (aged 16 or over) also entered into the race.
