Can you help St Mary Redcliffe Church this Christmas? | Volunteer Camera Operator Needed

The festive season is all about giving. So, can you lend a hand to St Mary Redcliffe Church this Christmas?

St Mary Redcliffe Church is looking for a volunteer camera operator, to help with their Christmas services.

At Christmas, services at St Mary Redcliffe are extremely popular, meaning not everyone in attendance is able to get a good view of the mass.

To counteract this, the church hires large TV screens to screen the service for those without a good view.

And this Christmas, the church is looking for a volunteer camera operator to help out – they’ll be capturing the service, ensuring every attendee can fully engage with the liturgy.

A super easy, but important task, every camera operator will receive full training.

There are five services in total over the Christmas period, which the church requires camera assistance:

Saturday 21 December @ 16:00: Christingle

Sunday 22 December @ 18:30: Nine Lessons

Tuesday 24 December @ 16:00: Crib Service

Tuesday 24 December @ 23:30: Midnight Mass

Wednesday 25 December @ 10:30: Festival Eucharist

St Mary Redcliffe’s Vicar, Canon Dan Tyndall, said: “St Mary Redcliffe is a glorious building: however, not all the sightlines are as good as each other!

"So, when the church gets very full, like this coming week for Christmas, we hire in some large TV screens to give more people something to look at. And, more than that, we hire in a TV camera so they can see the service.

“We would dearly love to have a camera operator: it's really easy to do (I did one service last year, so it must be easy!) and training will be given.”

Think you’re up for the challenge?

If you can lend a hand in one or more of the following services, contact Canon Dan Tyndall via email: dan.tyndall@stmaryredcliffe.co.uk. Alternatively, give him a call on 0776 929 6220.
