What you need to know about the Gloucester Road Christmas Street Party

Posted on: 27 Nov 2019

Bike shops, bakeries, restaurants, gift emporiums: Gloucester Road is brimming with independent retailers, armed with the stock to make your shopping a breeze.

In fact, Glos Road is the longest road of independent shops in the UK! (That’s a pretty big accolade, we think.)

So, why not take advantage of the road this Christmas, and enjoy some seasonal shopping in BS7?

On Thursday 5 December, the independents of Gloucester Road are set to host a festive Street Party.  Here’s what you need to know.

Gloucester Road Christmas Street Party

For one night only, some of the shops and businesses on Gloucester Road will stay open late, giving you extra time to shop the seasonal stock.

Kicking off at 17:00 and ending at around 20:00, the street party will also see tasty treats, live music and charity stalls.

Outside Alchemy 198, catch Filton Concert Brass Band play festive tunes, with mulled wine, vegan soup & snacks.

Inside, enjoy a printmaking workshop: choosing from XR symbols or designs from nature and jazz up your old t-shirts.

Looking for some festive free samples? Vendors including Joe’s Bakery and Art & Chocolate will be handing out some freebies on the night.

And if you’re in the mood to take part in some activities, visit Paper Plane for paper snowflake making, or find out about the work of Avon Needs Trees reforestation project.

New shops on Gloucester Road: UStudio

As well as a chance to enjoy seasonal treats, live music and more, the Gloucester Road Street Party is, of course, a great opportunity to shop until you drop.

Recently, Glos Road has seen some new inhabitants, including vibrant gift and card shop UStudio, and new clothing store The Ottowin Shop. Why not pop in during this year's street party?
