Gloucestershire Cricket launches programme to find new charitable partners

Posted on: 13 Nov 2019

Gloucestershire Cricket Club is looking for three new charitable organisations to partner with as they prepare to mark their 150th Anniversary in 2020.

The Charity Partnership Programme is expected to strengthen links between the club and the local community, and the organisers hope to appeal to a wide range of groups and charitable organisations during the application process.

The GCCC Charity Partnership Programme.

There are three tiers of partnerships on offer for charities to apply for: one exclusively available to groups within a one-mile radius of the club, one Bristol-based and one based anywhere in Gloucestershire.

Each chosen partner will be able to benefit greatly from the partnership, receiving a range of benefits aimed at growing the charity's profile and improving opportunities to raise funds.

"There are so many incredible charities doing great work across our county," club CEO Will Brown said, "and in our special 150th anniversary year, the club hopes to work with three chosen organisations to really help to shine the spotlight on some of this inspiring work."

Formed in 1870, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club is one of just eighteen first-class county cricket clubs involved in the domestic cricket structure in England and Wales. Captained in their infancy by famous Bristolian W.G. Grace, the club has gone on to win almost every domestic trophy available in the years since.

GCCC has enjoyed a successful year in 2019, returning to Division One of the County Championship and performing well in the limited-overs formats.
