Courtesy of Bristol Film Festival, horror-film enthusiasts have the chance to watch some terrifying flicks in Redcliffe Caves this Halloween.

One of the city’s spookiest locations, Redcliffe Caves are a series of manmade underground tunnels and mines beneath Bristol. What better place to watch some scary films?

Taking place across three days in later this month, the 2019 'Horror in the Caves' series kicks off with a Jordan Peele double bill on Friday 25 October. The acclaimed US director's Oscar-winning debut Get Out is first up at 6pm, followed by the fantastically chilling Us, which was released earlier this year.

Don't miss a Jordan Peele double bill for Horror in the Caves 2019.

Bristol horror fans can expect a full day of genre-defining films on Saturday 26th as the Bristol Film Festival screen a selection of iconic releases. 1935 classic Bride of Frankenstein is first on the bill at 11am, followed by The Omen, The Descent pioneering 'found footage' film and The Blair Witch Project. Next up, catch John Krasinski's eerie The Quiet Place and one of the most notorious horror films of the 21st century, Insidious.

The Saturday screening of The Descent is our pick of the weekend - what better place to experience the terrifying tale of a caving expedition gone wrong than deep inside a cave? The film's Sunday screening sold out in a heartbeat so make sure to grab yourself a seat for this one here while you can.

Sunday is certainly one for vintage film fans as Horror in the Caves kicks off a full day of cinema with sci-fi horror classic Them! at 11am before screening John Carpenter's creepy cult film The Fog early in the afternoon, supremely scary flick Hereditary at 3pm and the deeply atmospheric cinematic icon The Exorcist before finishing with a second showing of The Descent to close the series.

Tickets for The Exorcist (Sunday, 5.45pm) and The Descent (Sunday, 8.30pm) are unfortunately fully sold out, but you can book your seat to watch any of the other films listed above here and enjoy one of Bristol's very best Halloween events courtesy of the Bristol Film Festival.
