A look at Bristol Flyers' 2019/20 schedule

Posted on: 27 Aug 2019

The full BBL 2019/20 schedule has been unveiled, with the Bristol Flyers looking to improve on their 10th-place BBL Championship finish in their previous campaign.

The Flyers endured a disappointing season in 2018/19, scoring a league-low points tally and finishing tenth in the BBL Championship, above Worcester Wolves and Surrey Scorchers in eleventh and twelfth place respectively.

With a solitary pre-season friendly to play on 16th September, the squad is preparing for its first competitive matchup of the 2019/20 season, a BBL Cup fixture at home against the Surrey Scorchers.

The clash with Surrey marks the first in a run of ten BBL Cup matches taking place through September, October and November, and sees the Flyers play home and away against the London City Royals, Plymouth Raiders, Worcester Wolves and London Lions as well as the Scorchers.

From there, Bristol Flyers' regular BBL Championship season gets underway with a home fixture against Sheffield Sharks on Friday 6th December. Andreas Kapoulas' side will be looking to start strongly in front of a home crowd - you can get your tickets for the regular-season opener here - and will be well aware that they'll need to get some points on the board early if they want to push on up the table in 2019/20.

Notable fixtures include a local(ish) clash against last season's fellow strugglers Worcester on Saturday 14th December, a trip to 2018/19 champions London Lions on week four (Wednesday 18th December) and consecutive home matchups against London City Royals and the Manchester Giants to kick off the new year in January.

Armed with new additions Gentrey Thomas (G), Raphell Thomas-Edwards (F) and the returning Panos Mayindombe (G), the Flyers will be hoping to push up towards the top half of a competitive BBL Championship in the 2019/20 season.

Tickets for Bristol Flyers' 2019/20 home fixtures are on sale now and can be found on the club's online box office. For more information on the Bristol Flyers and to follow news, scores and other updates, visit their website or check out their Facebook page.
