6 Music's Huey Morgan to host huge NYC Block Party at Bristol's Bambalan on Sunday 18th AugustPosted on: 07 Aug 2019
BBC Radio 6 Music DJ and Fun Lovin' Criminals frontman Huey Morgan will be bringing a taste of the Big Apple to Bristol City Centre next weekend as he hosts his very own NYC Block Party on the Bambalan terrace! Tickets for the event on Sunday 18th August are on sale now but won't be around for long - get yours now via the link below.
Enlisting the help of legendary Bristol selectors DJ Die and Krust, Morgan's day party at Bambalan is certain to be a highlight of the Bristol weekend next week, making use of the bar's renowned terrace space overlooking the city centre.
As well as DJ Die, who'll be playing a boogie set, and Krust as he spins classics from the Fresh 4 era, expect killer sets from the likes of DJ Amo and a selection of Sip The Juice resident DJs as Bambalan spend a Sunday afternoon the only way they know how - with top-notch tunes, banging cocktails and (hopefully) a healthy dose of Bristol sunshine.
Few cities have had more of an impact on the world of underground music than New York, and countless artists, tracks and labels have been put to the test over the years at the infamous block parties of some of its most vibrant areas. No doubt Huey Morgan & Co will be bringing the NYC vibes to the Westcountry in this one as they provide the soundtrack to an unforgettable party at one of the city's most unique bar venues! Check out our chat with Huey from back in 2014 as he discusses Bristol's musical heritage and what it's like to play in the city:
This is a family-friendly event, running from 3pm-10pm on Sunday 18th August, with FREE entry and FREE food for children under-12 until 8pm. Food will be served all afternoon and until 9pm, with tickets on sale now starting at £10. A lximited number of tickets will be available on the door at £15 per person but we advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
