Basement Jaxx, known for their electronic music hits like ‘Romeo’ and ‘Where’s Your Head At’ will be sure to bring the heat to the festival with their surefire party starters on Friday night, while Saturday night will be taken over by the British indie rock favourite’s Razorlight. For the final night, Tom Odell will swoon festival goers with his raw, romantic vocals and beautiful piano chords.

There’s something for everyone at Valley Fest, with a bountiful line up of the nation’s best musical artists.

The event also promises to be a showcase of the finest local produce, including live cooking demonstrations held in the Tuck Inn. Annie Coplestone of The Monmouth Table, Moro, River Cottage and River Café Fame will be cooking up some delicious tapas, with an artisan market for all to try specialty cheeses, baked goods and other treats.

Owner of the Michelin-starred Pony and Trap, Josh Eggleton, together with Rob Howell, Head Chef of Root, which recently won a Bib Gourmand award are at the helm on Saturday night.

Valley Fest is held in the fields neighbouring The Community Farm, which provides organic vegetable boxes to around 700 customers in the area.  Festival goers can have tours, get involved in food and farming workshops, learn how to roll sushi, make kimchi as well as join the hugely popular bee and wildlife walks.

Underneath the fun festivities lies a deeper motive for the festival founding, set up in 2014 by Luke Hasell in honor of his parents who both tragically passed within a short time. Both cared for the land and community as farmers themselves, so their spirit lives on through the festival and its breathtaking location, nestled amongst the tranquil Mendip Hills.

The festival also raises money for Teenage Cancer Trust, having raised a monumental £14,479.15 last year. Many share the same tale, and Luke wants to make sure that young people in the South West don’t have to feel alone, saying:

“We were so proud of our fundraising efforts last year and have got some cracking ideas for this year. Plus I’m so excited about our line up! Basement Jaxx are going to get the weekend off to a flying start.  Razorlight are going to bring the rock’n’ roll and Tom Odell’s showmanship is something to behold, my parents would have loved it.”

Experience a West Country party like no other! Festival organisers advise attendees to arrive hungry.

Tickets are £125 (plus booking fee) for adults and can be bought here, with the option to pay in installments. There are a range of ticket prices for children and teens!
