World-renowned English rockers Muse will be the latest band to perform live at Ashton Gate Stadium's 2019 summer concert series tonight, playing the venue as part of their current World Tour. The band will be stopping in Bristol tonight as part of their huge Simulation Theory world tour, which has already seen them perform across Canada and North America and will see them go on to touch down in Russia, Finland, Holland, Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal before ending the tour in Spain. The Bristol date is one of three scheduled UK shows, with the others taking place at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester and the London Stadium.
The alternative rock band, consisting of Matthew Bellamy (guitar, piano, vocals), Chris Wolstenholme (bass, background vocals) and Dominic Howard (drums), have been entertaining audiences since the mid-90s, and they come armed with a huge back-catalogue of critically-acclaimed albums, including Black Holes and Revelations (2006) and The Resistance (2009).
Previously named Rocket Baby Dolls, the name "Muse" was supposedly inspired by Matthew Bellamy's art teacher, and the band have certainly become a household name over the years.
