Gloucestershire Cricket have just announced the signing of Australian bowler Chadd Sayers, joining the team in time to face Sussex in the 2019 County Championship on Tuesday 11th June.

Joining what is expected to be a strong, promotion-chasing Gloucestershire side, renowned bowler Sayers will be with the club until 25th July, with the option to take part in two Vitality Blast fixtures due to take place at the Cheltenham Cricket Festival.

The 31-year-old, as well as being capped for the Australian level at Senior and Under-19 level, plays for the West End Redbacks back home, a team represented in the 50-over Sheffield shield.

2018 was arguably his breakout year as he made his test debut for the Australian national side. A  first-class cricket specialist, Sayers is unlike most other fast bowlers in the modern era relying on precision and swing to tease batsmen into making vital mistakes.

"I am delighted to be heading to Gloucestershire for part of the 2019 season. It has always been an ambition of mine to play County cricket and I'm really looking forward to getting started,” Chadd said. “Hopefully I can help the team as they push for promotion from Division 2."

Don't miss Chadd Sayers in action for Gloucestershire this month as he prepares to face Sussex in the Specsavers County Championship on Tuesday 11th June.
